Dr. Linda Nagel, ASCC Network Lead and Principal Investigator, and Professor and Department Head of the Forest and Rangeland Stewardship Department at Colorado State University, was awarded the 2019 CO/WY Society of American Foresters (SAF) Citizenship Award. The Citizenship Award recognizes an SAF member or non-member for their service to the local community and the improvement of the image of the forestry profession.

Throughout her career, Linda has continuously worked to enhance the forestry profession and SAF as a department head, professor, instructor of national programs, and through forward-thinking, innovative research projects. Linda is leading the Forest and Rangeland Stewardship Department toward a vision of becoming a global leader in creating new knowledge and developing science-based, sustainable management practices for the world’s forests and rangelands. Her leadership and dedication to the community through the ASCC project is helping to inform research and advance communication of climate change adaptation at the local, national, and global scale, addressing a need for operational, tangible examples of adaptive management which field practitioners can directly apply to their own forest types to prepare for the impacts of climate change and to best manage for ecosystem adaptation into the future.

Congratulations, Dr. Linda Nagel, for this well-deserved award!
