Touring the Flathead National Forest ASCC Site
The Flathead National Forest/Coram Experimental Forest ASCC site was established in 2016 in western larch-mixed conifer forests. Recently, site leads and partners hosted a field tour in advance of the North American Forest Ecology Workshop!

On an early Monday morning in June 2026, tour attendees drove from Missoula to the Flathead to spend a day immersed in the field. We learned about treatment design, planting decisions, logistics of implementing and maintaining the ASCC site, and explored resistance, resilience, and transition units at the site. Thanks to David Wright and others who led our group and answered all our questions.
